United Way of Greater Houston is seeking a professionally polished, self-motivated individual to perform administrative duties for our Montgomery County Center with a high degree of accuracy and speed. This position requires a broad knowledge of organizational practices, policies and procedures and understanding of the functions of the Center.  Work may be of a critical or confidential nature.  Highly proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), various automated office systems, tools and analytical/word processing software programs. Supports and interacts with staff, temporary staff, Center agency staff, volunteers, and Loaned Executives.  Works with a high level of detail-oriented projects in a fast paced environment with constant time constraints. 

Provides administrative and accounting support to the Manager, Community Impact for Center Operations, Agency Relations, Committee Support, and other Programmatic Activities. This includes, but is not limited to, front office duties including answering and routing telephone calls and representing United Way to building tenants and all visitors. Purchasing of office/building/breakroom/janitorial supplies and arranging catering for United Way events as well as completing necessary purchase orders and/or requisitions. Supports administrative operations for the Emergency Food and Shelter Program.

Under the guidance of the Center Manager, serves as center coordinator responsible for facility management and maintenance. Responsible for communicating information and updates to tenants and arranging periodic tenant meetings. Monitor distribution, return, and deactivation of security badges and keys. Coordinates all meetings and events.  Manages conference room schedules including logistics, reservations and confirmation processes. Schedule guard for weekend or after-hours events.   Provides quotes for additional security, and submit invoices for billing.  Troubleshoots audiovisual equipment to ensure proper usage and function.  Organizes meeting and event set-up and space configuration for scheduled events. 


Education – Some college or better in Business Administration or related field.

Experience – 3 yearsAdvanced administrative experience in a professional office environment. 

Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills highly preferred
