The San Antonio Public Library Foundation (SAPLF) Board of Directors and staff welcome their new Executive Director, Amy Hone to the organization. Hone succeeds Interim Executive Director Tim Plant, who in turn succeeded long term President/CEO Tracey Bennett. Hone will lead the SAPLF efforts in support of the San Antonio Public Library system, working to strengthen libraries in service to the community. The SAPLF celebrates more than 35 years of service to San Antonio.
Mrs. Hone has more than twenty years of experience with nonprofit organizations, the last 13 of those in San Antonio. She most recently served for 7 years as the Chief Development Officer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central & South Texas, followed by nearly 4 years as the Director of Hope for the Future, in support of the 38 Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
“SAPLF has many opportunities for growth and innovation, and we are happy to have engaged a leader who understands the organization, its mission and its future potential,” said Bill Fisher, president of the SAPLF Board of Directors. “We look forward to having Amy guide SAPLF into the future while nurturing our important relationships with the San Antonio Public Library system and the greater community.”
Mrs. Hone received a BA in Public Relations from the University of Dayton, and is a veteran of the first Gulf War. She also holds the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation.
The San Antonio Public Library Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with a mission to strengthen the library in service to the community.
