Contemporary Exhibition in Corpus Christi

The Art Center of Corpus Christi

The Art Center of Corpus Christi is hosting Contemporary in the Meadows Gallery from March 2 – 30. “Contemporary” simply refers to all work created “today”, and showcases over 50 local artists through 70 pieces of original art. The exhibition coincides with Contemporary Art Month Corpus Christi (CAMCC) and is a collaboration with K Space Contemporary. CAMCC is a series of events including art exhibitions and receptions in galleries, public places, art education programs, happenings and performances throughout the Coastal Bend. Events can be found at

The juror for Contemporary was local artist and Preparator/Building Coordinator for the Art Museum of South Texas, Gerald Lopez. He has also been an art instructor at Del Mar College, TAMUCC, and TAMUK. He serves on the Board of Directors and as an Exhibition Committee member of K Space Contemporary Art Gallery. He states, “The quality of the ideas, skill, and execution in the artwork for this show made for a very tough jurying process and that’s a very good thing. I believe contemporary art has a place at the table in every community and judging from what I saw in the Contemporary exhibition, it absolutely does here in Corpus Christi.” Award winners are listed below.
