TECH IMPACT’S 2018 TECH FORWARD CONFERENCE AIMS TO TRANSFORM NONPROFITS THROUGH THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY

Tech Impact, a national nonprofit organization and leading expert in nonprofit technology, announced its second annual Tech Forward Conference, a three-day event bringing together nonprofit leaders and industry experts to discuss how technology can transform nonprofit organizations and the sector as a whole.

Taking place from September 30 – October 2 in Austin, TX, Tech Impact and its conference partners, TechSoup, NetSuite, and Microsoft, will cover the most pressing areas of technology concerns including Security, Productivity, Innovation and Informed decision-making. Conference sessions will focus on how industry leaders use technology to create real change in the world and for their organizations. The intimate conference setting is designed to provide attendees with many opportunities to network with industry leaders and leave with actionable steps that they can implement for their organization.

Key aspects of the conference include:

  • KEYNOTE SPEAKER

o  Justin Spelhaug, leader of the Tech for Social Impact group of Microsoft Philanthropies will kick-off the 2017 conference and address the Tech Forward crowd on Monday, October 1. The Tech for Social Impact group within Microsoft Philanthropies aims to accelerate digital transformation across three million nonprofits globally, so they can have a greater impact on the world’s most critical social issues.

  • PLENARY SPEAKERS AND BREAKOUT SESSIONS

o  NGO and nonprofit leaders will share experiences and expertise in rounds of breakout sessions and plenary discussions covering topics including information security, data analytics and visualization, gamification and Blockchain technology, and more. Speakers represent organizations and companies that have demonstrated ways technology revolutionizes the ability to reach mission and impact.

  • NETWORKING PARTIES

o  Conference attendees and speakers will gather on Rainey Street for a night of authentic Austin eats, good drinks and local music all while connecting with nonprofits facing similar struggles and challenges

  • TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION AWARDS

o  The Technology Innovation Awards will recognize and contribute to nonprofits who have a plan to change their community and the world through innovative technology projects. During Tech Forward, winning nonprofits will receive $10,000 grants to advance their projects selected by the Tech Forward partner organizations.
