The Foundation for Southeast Texas awarded a total of $135,000 to 49 nonprofit organizations in Hardin, Jefferson and Orange Counties today. The grants range from $750 to over $7000. The Foundation received valid applications from over 100 organizations. The Grants Committee reviewed each application and made recommendations to the Board of Directors for final approval.
“In its eighteenth year of awarding competitive grants, the Foundation is pleased to make these grants to deserving local charities. We want to thank these great organizations for the work they are doing in our community,” Mellie Bevilacqua, Executive Director of the Foundation for Southeast Texas, said. Since 1998, the Foundation for Southeast Texas has supported the community by giving over 6.5 million dollars in grants. This year, grants will be awarded to organizations representing the arts, culture, preservation, health, social services, youth, elderly and civic affairs and in all communities within the three counties.
