McCarthy – The Bernard And Audre Rapoport Foundation - Waco
Maggie McCarthy most recently served as the Executive Director of the Bernard and Audre Rapoport Foundation located in Waco, Texas. She managed all facets of Foundation operations including a grant budget of approximately $2.5 million per year. Additionally, Maggie provides leadership to other Foundation initiatives that include community collaborations among public and private sector agencies, nonprofit management assistance, and cooperative projects among foundations.
Maggie’s previous foundation experience reflects approximately ten years with the Communities Foundation of Texas, located in Dallas. Maggie’s career with the foundation began as communications director. As her staff and responsibilities grew, Maggie was charged with oversight of all satellite office operations and later was named director of donor relations. As vice president for grants administration, Maggie managed a yearly grant distribution ranging from $17 to $26 million per year.
Between foundation posts, Maggie moved with her husband to Eureka Springs, Arkansas where she owned and operated a coffee shop and retail business. Other professional experience includes technology recruitment and sales, and a familiarity with Internet development.
Throughout her career, Maggie has served on numerous charitable and civic boards, including as board chair. She is asked to speak on foundation issues, most recently moderating a panel on technology issues for the Conference of Southwest Foundations.
Her education background includes a BA in Communications from Western Illinois University and a Masters in Liberal Arts from Southern Methodist University.

the Bernard and Audre Rapoport Foundation. She promotes citizen
engagement into grassroots philanthropy with her lifelong
