Job Description:


San Antonio Pets Alive! is seeking a Marketing Manager who brings donor-centered communications and campaigns to life with optimism and energy.  The candidate will oversee and develop marketing and communications, while utilizing proven marketing tactics and theories.  The job is part analytical, part creative, and part project management.

The ideal candidate will be able to create and execute a marketing plan while embracing established brand identity. The Marketing Manager works within the Development Department, reporting to the Development Director, and alongside Operations to capture stories from the field and interpret them to our broad audience.  The candidate will utilize a time-structured calendar system and possess the flexibility to change direction at a moment’s notice.  Facilities and Operations Programs (volunteers, fosters, adoptions) rely on the Marketing Manager for direction of offers, promotions, events and campaign initiatives as the position bridges the gap between the Administrative Team, Operations, and SAPA!’s public constituency.

Strong time and project management is a must as the majority of time is spent managing various projects.  

Key Responsibilities

*Ensure all external communication pieces contain a consistent brand image
*Develop new revenue-generating ideas
*Create and implement programs
*Analyze cost/benefits
*Identify and drive donor research
*Liaise with external suppliers (ad agencies, production houses, etc)
*Review of similar non-profits (compare similar offerings to clients, any gaps unfulfilled in market)
*Plan outreach programs as part of campaigns or to enhance community relations (networking, event opportunities, key players)
*Track results of all activity and make recommendations for future activity
*Work with the site managers to educate and engage employees on important campaign details
*Report back on campaign results
*Create and manage key partnerships with local businesses/organizations who can help with campaigns and build community relations
*Maintain stock of promotional items, order more items as needed
*Maintain press kit
*Maintain website for content, images, brand consistency, relevance, scanning weekly for updates
*Throughout and following campaigns, actively produce social media, photographs, program summaries, recaps
*Create run-of-show of events, specials, price-points, up-coming activities
*Owning the real time Social Media updates and interaction on sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Yelp, TripAdvisor and Google
*Monitor activity and reporting trends/concerns
*Develop Merchandise plan, order products, and distribute to facilities
*Plan events
*Any and all other duties as required

Key Qualifications

*Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations.
*1-2 years experience in a Marketing role, utilizing: social media branding, marketing initiatives, and local outreach marketing programs and
*Ability to develop and manage local partnerships
*Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
*Expert with Microsoft Office
*Familiar with online email marketing systems such as Constant Contact
*Expert with communications and interpreting complex messages to an easy-to-understand deliverable
*Project management
*Media and Publicity
*Social media management and oversight as well as social content generation
*Writes clearly and simply
*Familiarity with crowd-sourcing software and websites including razoo, paypal Giving Fund, Give Gab, etc.
*Familiarity with donor management software
*Donor-centered content expert
*Familiarity with video production
