Houston Habitat Staff is at it again!
Houston Habitat for Humanity

May, 2017

Houston Habitat for Humanity was congratulated on attaining the coveted Charity Navigator 4-star rating for demonstrating strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency. This is the 5th time that Houston Habitat has earned this top distinction!

As the nonprofit sector advances and expands, so do the desires and interests of their supporters. Astute donors want greater accountability, transparency, and concrete results from nonprofits. With more than 1.5 million American charities, Charity Navigator’s purpose is to highlight the work of efficient and transparent organizations. They provide donors with essential information to give them greater confidence in both the charitable decisions that they make, and in the nonprofit sector.

As organizations evolve, it is important that they remain trustworthy and adhere to sector best practices and execute their mission in a financially efficient way. For the fifth consecutive year, Houston Habitat has earned this 4-star rating by doing just that. We are exceeding industry standards and outperforming most charities in our area of work. Only 7% of the charities evaluated have received at least 5 consecutive 4-star evaluations.

Houston Habitat for Humanity maintains a strong commitment to their financial health, accountability and transparency. Giving lower income Houstonians a hand up in attaining the self-reliance through shelter is our number one goal; and we are proud to receive the Charity Navigator 4-star rating!
