KCOS Art Auction- May 2 & 3
KCOS El Paso

April, 2015

KCOS, El Paso’s public television station is excited to announce Art Auction 2015 on May 2nd and 3rd.  This live television event is our biggest fundraiser of the year and one of our longest traditions going on for over 25 years.

For the first time the Art Auction hosted a juried art show awarding prizes in following five categories and a Best in Show.

·      Local Flavor- a celebration of the best of the Paso del Norte region in all mediums.

·      Figurative- a celebration of human form and representations of animals.

·      Still Life and Landscapes- still life and non-regional landscapes in all mediums.

·      Photography- photographs, limited editions, lithographs, and etchings.

·      Contemporary & Mixed media- abstract, non-objective works, three dimensional works in all media, including functional art.

Special collections (non-juried) also include original works and fine art prints from many early El Paso artists including Tom Lea, Jose Cisneros, Manuel Acosta, Kate Ball, Lester Hughes and many more.

The KCOS Art Auction gives local artists the opportunity to display their best work all while giving our viewers the chance to win and bid on their favorite piece(s). The event supports the arts and local artists while remaining an engaging experience for viewers and supporters who are able to participate in the broadcast from home. Nearly 120 pieces are available for bidding.

This event is helps support El Paso’s PBS station and public television in our community.  For over 36 years KCOS has been inspiring, informing and educating our viewers in the Paso del Norte region thanks to the generous support of our community.
