SUSAN G. KOMEN SAN ANTONIO RELEASES 2015-2016 REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS

Komen San Antonio is seeking applications for breast cancer screening, treatment, 

survivorship and education programs. A Mandatory Grant Writing Workshop takes place on October 8, 2014. 

WHAT: Komen San Antonio seeks community-based projects in Bexar County that benefit medically underserved target populations with innovative and collaborative breast cancer programs. 

The grant application process is competitive and available funding is based on net revenues from the Komen San Antonio Race for the Cure. 

Applications will be accepted for local breast cancer programs beginning 

October 9, 2014, for the fiscal year April 1, 2015, to March 31, 2016. Proposals that specifically address the objectives outlined in the “Funding Priorities” of the Request for Applications (RFA), including breast cancer screening, treatment and education, will be given priority. 

A Mandatory Grant Writing Workshop for applicants is scheduled for October 8, 2014. Interested agencies must attend if they are planning to submit a project for consideration.

ABOUT SUSAN G. KOMEN SAN ANTONIO: 

Established in 1997, Komen San Antonio Affiliate has invested $16.5 million in our community. Seventy-five percent supports local nonprofit programs providing vital breast cancer screening, treatment, survivorship support and education. The remaining 25 percent goes to the Susan G. Komen Grants Program for groundbreaking breast cancer research and scientific programs around the world. Historically, more than 100 percent of research funds forwarded to Komen Headquarters from the local Affiliate have come back to our community in grants for breast cancer research and scientific initiatives.
