Raphael Community Free Clinic

October, 2013

Raphael Community Free Clinic has launched its first website! This effort was coordinated to reach the local community and beyond to provide information about the Clinic’s services and history. The clinic has been in operation since 1997 and is located at 1807 Water Street in Kerrville, Texas. Raphael Community Free Clinic was founded in response to a community assessment study which confirmed the need for non-emergency medical services for the uninsured of Kerr County and the surrounding six counties.

Raphael Community Free Clinic’s clients face many life challenges, including access to child care services, transportation, limited incomes and proper nutritional needs. Access to health care helps alleviate an already stressful situation. Operating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit since 1997, the Raphael Community Free Clinic focuses its efforts on providing medical services free of charge to its patients. According to Sister Marge Novak, clinic co-founder and director, “Those we serve are our number one priority. In 2012, 90 cents of every dollar donated went directly to services for those in need.”

With the help of a dedicated, caring volunteer force of 60 and an experienced staff of eight, Raphael Community Free Clinic is offering this new opportunity for Internet users to learn more about the clinic’s mission, services, and volunteer options, as well as the chance to support its cause through an online donation of any amount. Raphael Community Free Clinic does not seek or accept any city, state or Federal funds. All services are supported by private grants, donations, estate gifts and local service organizations, including Peterson Regional Medical Center.

Sister Marge invites the community to visit the new webpage,, to learn more about the Raphael Community Free Clinic and volunteer opportunities. The public is also welcome to email the clinic at for more information or to share stories or comments about its services.
