A Thought to Ponder
from the President & CEO

Greetings!

Elliot Gershenson Headshot 2012

Welcome to our new monthly format which will come out every 3rd Tuesday. It is here that I will share a THOUGHT TO PONDER and perhaps a bit about IM. You will also find the piece on IM's blog - and I hope that you take a read and add your own thoughts as well. Thank you for being such great readers and supporters. We couldn't do our work without you!

I was honored recently to give a talk about Judaism to the Baha'i community. I love sharing ideas with people - and getting into the fray a bit. One of the points I made, when asked if Judaism believes there is a place in the hereafter for others was that most Jews see the Judaism as one way to find God. Not necessarily the only way or the best one; but one way. Therefore there certainly is a place in heaven for all righteous people, since we are all made in the image of God (as we understand God). I noted that I have come to believe, even more firmly now that I've worked at IM for over 8 years, that there are intersecting truths when it comes to God and faith. One truth does not necessarily invalidate another. I certainly don't know God's intentions - all I know is that God made us differently and since God seeks peace, God must want us to work things out and build the world together.

Wouldn't the world be a more blessed place if we all could see God in each other's faces?    I look forward to your comments here.

Talk to you in a few weeks.
