The Collars for a Cause kickoff party at Momentum Porsche in Houston provided a sporty start to the 2012 Collars for a Cause auction and celebration. Revelers got to examine several collars from last year’s event as well as a few collars that have already been created for the 2012 auction.

The event initiates the build-up to the Collars for a Cause auction of celebrity and designer collars and leads and the Collars for a Cause Celebration, which will take place on Friday, April 13, 2012. Grammy-nominated singer Jordan Sparks has signed on to be a Collars for a Cause Ambassador for 2012. Sponsors for the auction and celebration include LIFE+DOG Magazine, Digital Function, Momentum Volvo, and Pet Paradise. Full story.

It’s All Up to You, Baby!
Dogs and Cats Reproduce Faster than Humans, Creating Deficit of Loving Homes

It's up to you, baby!

Gabriela, a bouncing baby girl, was born on the same day as Lancelot, an adorable puppy, and Cupcake, a cuddly kitten. Gabriela will eventually have children of her own, but by the time she has her first, Lancelot (and multiple generations of his offspring) will have sired thousands of puppies, and Cupcake (and multiple generations of her offspring) will have given birth to thousands of kittens. Even if Gabriela and all of her children love animals and provide homes to as many as they can, there will still never be enough homes for all of the animals that need them. Who will save Gabriela from the thundering hoard of puppies and kittens coming her way? Full story.
