The People Behind The Entitlement Debate, The Latest "Pulling It Together, From Drew Altman"

In his latest column, the Kaiser Family Foundation's President and CEO explores the looming policy debate on entitlements with three national commissions due to report on reducing the deficit and/or reining in entitlement spending. You can read the full column online.

Latest Health Tracking Poll Gauges The Role of Health Reform in the Mid-Term Election

The November Kaiser Health Tracking poll conducted in the days following the mid-term election, attempts to gauge what role health reform played in voters' decisions, and to measure the current public mood about the health reform law. It finds that voters say health care reform influenced their vote for Congress but was not a dominant factor, trailing behind the economy and other concerns. The poll is the latest in a series designed and analyzed by the Foundation's public opinion research team and is available online.

Live Interactive Webcast Featuring: The Future of U.S. Multilateral Engagement on Global Health: What's the Right Balance?

On Tuesday, November 16 at 9:30 a.m. ET, Kaiser will host a live, interactive webcast examining the future of U.S. multilateral engagement on global health. Although it is the largest donor to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and a major donor to many other multilateral organizations, the U.S. has historically supported global health through bilateral funding and programs. Yet, the Obama Administration has stated an intention to reinvigorate multilateral engagement as a key priority of the Global Health Initiative. This has raised questions about whether and in what ways the U.S. might shift its global health support, and what the right balance is between multilateral and bilateral funding. During this live webcast, an expert panel will discuss these questions as well as other aspects of the U.S. multilateral engagement. The program, part of the "U.S. Global Health Policy: In Focus" live webcast series; will be moderated by Kaiser Family Foundation Senior Policy Analyst Josh Michaud. Panelists include: Mark Abdoo, Director for Global Health and Food Security, National Security Council; Natasha Bilimoria, President, Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis; and Jennifer Kates, Vice President and Director, Global Health Policy & HIV, Kaiser Family Foundation. Questions may be submitted ahead of time or during the live program. The webcast will be available online.
